Drugs can be found almost in every part of the world. Most people think that drugs are very dangerous substance and could destroy a person's life. But to those who had try drugs at least once in their life would think that "drugs aren't so bad as long as you can control them". But the truth is that drugs are against the law whether you do a little or do a lot. If you are caught using drugs, depending on your age, you can get kicked out of school, be sent to a juvenile correction center, or go to jail. As far as health and mental effects, drugs can sometimes hurt you the first time you take them. One should always be aware that the whole idea of "controlling it" is often a lie. Drugs can take over your mind and body so that all you want to do is get more drugs. In a way, the drug controls you instead of the other way around. Not everyone who tries drugs will end up a hopeless addict, but the chances of controlling your life and being healthy and successful are much greater if you never try or use drugs.
Most people start using drugs because they're trying to self-medicate, which means they are searching for a substance that will help their depression. If you understand the causes and symptoms of depression, and know that there are much better ways to get help, then you will be less likely to try drugs this way. But there are some people that do drugs just because they're bored, and they think that getting high is a fun way to fill up time. But there are thousands of ways to have fun, damaging your body and mind with drugs because there's nothing to do is a sign of a really uncreative person.
Even if they know all the physical dangers and all the other reasons not to use drugs, but they still do it anyway. The reason why, is that some drugs makes you feel good, and this is what's called the "high". Once you've had a "feel-good" experience, your brain builds a new path, like a shortcut.
