“A Streetcar Named Desire” A Street Car Named Desire, by Tennessee Williams is about a couple named Stanley and Stella who live a peaceful life until Stella’s sister, Blanche, moves in, giving them problems and causing them trouble. Blanche is a person who tries to hard to become someone she’s not, she’s selfish, and at the same time, looking for a second chance at love. The moment Blanche arrives at Stella’s house, she acts as is she had never done anything wrong. For example when she gets offered a drink, she makes it seem like she never does it. “ Have a shot? ... No, I rarely touch it.”(p.30) Before she had even been offered a drink, she’d already had a whole bottle.
