Journey of Life
Mary Oliver’s 1986 poem “The Journey” first appeared in her book Dream Work. ... As I read this poem by Mary Oliver, I felt as though she was writing my inner feelings of my life, “My Journey”. ... Several years ago I started a journal of my life and coincidentally it was called “My Journey”. ... My journey through life has not been an easy one. ... My father is was in the Army and my parents did not always cope well having to live that military life. ... However, I know now that I was wanted and my parents were just young and did not know how to deal with certain things happening in our life. ... He was like an angel to me and he changed my life for me. He made me “Mend my Life!” I turned my life around and on that day I decided I needed to stop being so stubborn. I began to learn to appreciate the greater things in my life and not dwell on the dreadful things in my past. ... Then just as I was getting my life straight, others around me started to fall. ... It has taken along time “But little by little, as you left their voices behind” or I left the negativity behind my life begun to shine threw and my star began to burn.
