gladiator
The scene that I chose to describe is from the film “Gladiator”. The scene is the opening battle scene of the film, where the Roman Army is fighting rebels that do not want their colony to be taken by the Roman Empire. This scene really stands out to me because Ridley Scott the director was able to use so much detail and create one of the greatest battle scenes in any film in what was not a very long scene. The first thing that stands out in the scene is the lighting and the atmosphere that it helps to create. The Scene is shot in a large field at what seems to be just before nightfall, the sky is dark gray and looks as though there could be a storm coming at any moment.
