What was once AT&T is now AT&T Wireless, AT&T Broadband, AT&T Consumer, and AT&T Business. AT&T developed a plan to incorporate technology and e-business into the company, and then restructure and split one company into four now-thriving individual companies. By looking towards the future and realizing the importance of technology and e-business, AT&T was able to plan far enough in advance to avoid being trumped in the telecommunication industry’s move towards e-business and develop wireless and broadband services to tap into these highly profitable sectors.
