Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico, 1941

Nature is all around. It may not be easily noticed, but Ansel Adams noticed it. Adams used his medium to convey what no one else saw. The earth is being destroyed and small photographs are all that there will be to show for it. Photography, the brainchild of Adams, is reaching new heights because of what Adams did. “Moonrise,” a majestic photograph of a moon rising over a small, remote town, creates wonderful feelings for the power of nature. Such a beautiful picture would almost have to be fabricated by a computer or other editor. Adams, however, found one of the most magical places in the world. He found New Mexico. Adams took a series of photographs from around the west.
