Why Violence Will Always Be Here
When a terrible event happens, it is usually followed by protest. A common type of protest is anti-violence. Stop the violence people shout out. Put a end to it another person says. People get killed because senseless acts of violence. From conflicts unresolved to materialistic things, violence somehow is always a option and like the protestors ask when is it going to end? Aggressive behavior will never go cease. It is in our human nature to be violent. Sometimes violence is necessary, while other times it is just pointless. This age we live in is the age of aggression. Violence will never go away.
Violent behavior can be at a place where the youth get their education. Kids get picked on and bullied everyday. “Overall, almost eleven percent of a representative sample youth reported bullying others “sometimes,” and almost nine percent admitted to bullying others once a week or more. Experiencing bullying was reported with similar frequency, with almost nine percent bullied “sometimes” and just over eight percent bullied once a week or more” (North Carolina Department). Even at school, violence tends to be a factor in the environment. As a result of bullying, sometimes the person(s) who get picked on usually retaliate in a violent manner. In the past five years there have been numerous school shootings. Clues on why the youths shot up the school were because of the aggression towards them.
Aggression (violence) is very profound in sports. For example take the game of football. Legendary linebacker Dick Butkus once said, “I wouldn’t ever set out to hurt anyone deliberately unless it was, you know, important-like a league game or something” (Fantasy Football). In order to prevent the other team from scoring, you must tackle him before he reaches the end zone.
