Careers in Psychology There are several different branches of psychology and therefore multiple career choices. This is simply an overview of the different career choices for a psychologist, these career chioces encompass most all major perspectives in psychology including structuralism, functionalism, behaviioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, physiological, cognitive and cultural and diversity (Davis & Pallidino, pg 31). Psychologists who study the human mind and behavior can enter several different fields, these include clinical entered at 36%, counseling at 10%, school at 3%, developmental at 6%, educational at 3%, social and personality at 8%, industrial/organizational at 3%, and research at 16%, other various careers that will not be discussed are entered at about 15% (APA,2003).
