Castle and Australian Society
The Castle The Castle is an Australian film which fits many stereotypical and reasonable concepts about our way of life. We see many aspects of Australian life including a lot of cultural customs, the way we interact with our environment and the Social structures we have erected in our community. So much of this film deals with Australian culture. ... The family has always been a part of Australian culture and Pride in your family is not an uncommon sentiment here. ... Multiculturalism is a big part of Australian culture and this is well represented in the film. ... The laid back attitude of the Australian culture is very obvious in the film. ... Every Australian has a sense of this whether they know anything about law or not. Everyone knows that sport is a very important part of Australian culture and we see this represented in the movie by Con’s kickboxing, the families fishing and Darryl’s dog racing. All of them are very enthusiastic about their sport and through this we can see the Australian love of it. Obviously we can see when watching the film that one of the most prominent ideas expressed is that a man’s home is his Castle.
