Orwellian Society
“Orwellian Society” When George Orwell wrote the novel 1984, he predicted a society filled with rules and laws. ... A person in his created society no longer thinks for himself or herself, but instead follows “Big Brother. ... The United States is not a totalitarian government, although it seems at times we are headed in that direction, but we do have some aspects that resemble the Orwellian society. For instance, in 1984, the people in the society are forced to go through two minutes of hate, which is basically standing in front a TV screen that pictures a “hate person”, while screaming and essentially “hating” that person. ... A social security number is in fact an example of an aspect of the Orwellian society that exists today. ... But, it seems as though the number of cameras are increasing and there could soon be a camera in every TV, such as in the “Big Brother” society. We must keep America from becoming an Orwellian society by not allowing ourselves to be misled.
