Adversity
When the topic of adversity arises in any sort of discussion, the common theme that circumvents it is “overcoming” adversity; that is identifying those few select people who had odds against theme and overcame them. ... Such abilities or habits to cope with adversity were present in the short stories “To Build a Fire” and “The Outcasts of Poker Flat.” The film The White Squall demonstrates how people cope with adversity and then later even overcome it. I remember asking a friend of mine to give his best example of what he thought adversity was and his response was, “Adversity is a gay male that’s paralyzed and in a wheel chair with aids and cancer that’s deaf in one ear.
