Why I Vote

I know my vote is just a drop in the bucket, probably equaling up to a zero sum gain, but that’s not the only reason why I vote. I vote because it’s the socially responsible thing to do. I vote because I don’t believe that consumerism is the same as patriotism. I vote because I like to spend more time following the drama of politics than fussing over which brand of whatever best defines me as a person. I don’t know how someone cannot stop to vote and yet proudly proclaim themself American driving around in an SUV with a “United We Stand” bumper sticker.
