Digestive System/Liver Cancer The digestive system is the part of the body that breaks down food so the nutrients can be used by the body. The disease that I chose is liver cancer. Liver cancer is a tumor that is found in the liver and can spread to different parts of the body if not treated. It is deadly if the liver cancer is not treated because the liver is your largest internal organ; a person cannot live without a liver. The liver stores nutrients that are absorbed from the intestines to make your body function.
