Two competitions attract dozens of teens from area high schools Twenty-five Staten Island winners in the 2003 New York City Science and Engineering Fair were honored recently during an awards ceremony at Polytechnic University, Brooklyn. And three of the 25 walked away with a combined total of $35,000 in college scholarships. Neha Chauhan from Susan Wagner High School won a $15,000 scholarship from Polytechnic University, while Anne Marie Miller and Ilya Shnaydman from Staten Island Technical High School, New Dorp, each earned a $10,000 scholarship to Polytech. More than 650 students from around the city exhibited their science projects at the New York Academy of Sciences' Expo in February and during the finals last month at Polytech.
