Contention that sports gambling isnt a problem losing is

They end up stealing, using drugs, ruin their marriage, and losing their job. If these people would discipline themselves and knew how to win, they wouldn’t have a problem. Their problem isn’t gambling, it’s losing. The people who lose everything are then told that they have a problem and should go see a doctor or get counseling. The counselor then sets out on the premise of teaching the gambler to stop gambling. It seems to me because the gambler loves gambling it would be easier to teach the gambler how to be successful and model himself after successful gamblers. I suspect that people with gambling problems have no desire to win in the first place. ... Gambling is just the outlet in which they have chose to punish themselves.
