JFK’s Assassination There are several different theories that are said to have been the cause of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1968. The name everyone remembers from the assassination is Lee Harvey Oswald, who is said to have shot the President from an upper story of the Texas Book Depository. The President was riding through the crowd in his convertible, passing by the building. Some people believe that the President’s assassination had something to do with our own government. There are also people that believe the President was shot out of hatred as other presidents had been shot for that cause in the past. There is a wealth of information that helps to support the different theories and ideas of how and why President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. It is still a mystery for the most part to all today! Lee Harvey Oswald is the most prominent component in the assassination of the President, though a large majority of people in the U.S. and worldwide has always accepted the fact that Lee Harvey Oswald was falsely accused of being the lone assassin of John F. Kennedy, the thirty-fifth president of the United States. Kennedy's successor, Lyndon Baines Johnson, appointed a presidential fact-finding commission, known as the Warren Commission, named after its figurehead leader, Chief Justice Earl Warren.
