american revolution
Many factors helped to cause the American Revolution. The Proclamation of 1763, various acts passed by Britain, and the Boston Tea Party all in part were responsible for starting the American Revolution. They all caused the rift between Britain and its colonies to expand. Each of these events played a part in the conflicting attitudes of the British and colonists. The Proclamation of 1763 forbade the colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. The British thought that this law would keep the colonists’ conflicts with the Native Americans to a minimum. However, this law angered the colonists and caused the split between Britain and the colonists to grow. The colonists purposely disobeyed this law to infuriate the British government.
