Maternity Leave
Maternity Leave: A large issue in today’s labour market is maternity leave. ... This causes the couples of Australia a lot of hard ship when they wont to start a family as one parent must leave work (in most cases this is the female). Over seventy percent of Australian women do not have paid maternity leave which is quite devastating as less than 1/3 of out population do. Recently some companies have begun to offer suitable maternity pay such as the ACU (Australian Catholic University) and Westpac but this is but a mere dint in the struggle for maternity leave for all Australians. After interviewing a few people many of them believe that the only way that maternity leave will become a common policy in the work force is if the government subsidises the pay to the employee.
