Free and Fair Trade- A myth The final analysis of the North America Free Trade Act may as well lead us down a path of understanding western civilization’s uncontrollable hunger for wealth at the expense of our environment, indigenous people and our spiritual being. Multinational companies have influenced America since the colonial times. Our history of free and fair trade seems to neglect the early history of this nation. Under British and French rule, the early colonists took at gunpoint the lands of an inferior nation. We do not like to reflect on the nation's part. A past that would involve the extermination of American Indians. Could you imagine how this would play out in today's Internet connected news media? How hypocritical the US would be if it claimed that China had no right to forcibly absorb Taiwan into its communistic regime. The same crimes that the US committed onto the American Indians would now be unacceptable to China. Under a fair global system, both actions by the Us and China as proposed would be illegal and criminal regardless of eastern or western code of law.
