PHILOSOPHY OF LAW
If determinism were to be true, it would be fatal to our legal system and our methods of legal punishment. After all, our concepts of legal system and legal punishment are solely justifiable on the grounds that we are agents of freewill. The legal system exists to establish some type of order and moral value to our society. It has been constructed by society itself to attach values of right and wrong. In the discovery that determinism was true, we would have to completely rearrange our legal system. Rearrangement of our legal system would be an incredibly complicated task.
