Quyen Truong English 5/4/03 Why should teachers get tenure? In the essay “Why should teachers get tenure?” Steve Chapman is against the idea of teachers getting tenure. He says that good teachers don’t need tenure because good teachers will always be good teachers. Good teachers can always find other jobs while bad teachers use tenure to protect their jobs. Chapman says that tenure only benefits one way because teachers can leave anytime they like. As for administrators, tenure makes it harder for them to fire unqualified teachers without a good reason.
