The Oddyssey: Summary of the First Several Books

Odysseus is one of the strongest Greek warriors in The Odyssey. He fought n the Trojan War and was one of the handful of survivors. No one is sure whether or not he survived. Odysseus is the husband of Queen Penelope and the father or Prince Telemachus. Odysseus is infamous among his people for his courage, strength, intellect, and quick thinking. Although he is greatly respected, there are several men who are attempting to court his wife during his absence. Odysseus is unaware of this because he is stuck on the Nymph Calypso's island. Odysseus's journey began directly after the Trojan War. He fought bravely along side other warriors and on his voyage home was imprisoneed by Calypso, a God who was in love with him. Odysseus desperately wants to return home but has no one to help him.
