No to Conscription in Australia
“Australia should make conscription compulsory” Without a doubt, Australia should not make conscription compulsory. Conscription should not be introduced as it would be un-beneficial for Australia as a free country. This is seen through the facts that it would be destroying freedom throughout Australia, people sent to war have a high risk of being killed or seriously injured, it would mainly affect the working class, so it would not be a fair system, it would weaken trade unions and workers would be exploited with more working hours and less wages and that the war is not Australia’s fight. Firstly, Australia should not make conscription compulsory as it would destroy freedom throughout Australia. ... Australia is a democracy where people who live in it have a freedom of speech, rights and the right to not go to the war if they don’t want to, conscription would be actually making Australia an un-righteous place where freedom would no longer exist. Every man on the face of the earth should have the right to choose to not go into war if they didn’t want to but that is not so but Australia is one of these places which is what makes Australia such a great country and respected by others.
