In my essay I am going to be discussing Kurt Cobain’s influence on “grunge” music and fashion in the late 80’s and early 90’s, and also how Courtney Love later introduced the feminized version, to what seemed like a genderless look from the outset.
With grunge music came the grunge look, Kurt Cobain’s greasy bleached hair, and pale waiflike body, and second hand shop clothes created the image of a strung-out, moody adolescent. ... It wasn’t just the music and clothes; it was the whole “grunge” attitude: moody teenage angst. ... In his suicide note he wrote about not loving writing or playing his music anymore, and that he felt guilty for “pretending” to his fans. ... ” Courtney didn’t give up and went on making her music and being a mum.
