In Marian・s shoes, one probably would not have handled her position as well as she had. Many stereotypical remarks were thrown at her, and her instructor was prejudice and never gave her a fair chance. Marian handled her situation very well and held strong against the instructor・s remarks. Even though Marian was criticized and faced a prejudice white instructor throughout the test, she kept her cool and held herself back during the bulk of the time. One prejudiced comment was when he stated that she was ：Old enough to have quite a flock of pickaninnies.； This was a prejudiced remark because he assumed she stays home all day, and does nothing but have children. Marian just did not answer, kept calm, and held back her anger.
