Legalizing Marijuana
I am convinced that legalizing marijuana would result in economic, health and social advantages. I also believe that the illegality of marijuana is based on myths and misconceptions. For example, marijuana is known as a “gateway” drug, or a drug that leads to the use of harder drugs, like cocaine and heroin, but marijuana actually tends to substitute for these drugs. In fact, since the Dutch has partially legalized marijuana in the 1970’s, Holland has seen a significant drop in cocaine or heroin usage.
