primate observation

For the primate observation project I visited Kamper Park Zoo Friday, March 14, 2003. That Friday I was able to view four different cages of primates, but the area past the tiger cages was blocked off. I viewed the primates and took notes while talking to several of the different animal caretakers. I returned on Sunday, March 16, 2003 to view the remaining primates and take the necessary notes for the paper. The Gibbons exhibit was open and I got the necessary information to complete the paper. The zoo had several different species of primates. I began by observing the lemurs. Lemurs are in the family Lemuridae which is contained within the order Strepsirhines. Lemurs are native to Madagascar and Africa. The Black Howler was the next primate that I observed.
