... Getting their first car is an exciting milestone for most teenagers, but for me, it was a time to prove responsibility. The challenges started when I turned sixteen and decided I wanted my own car. My first obstacle was that my parent’s idea on teenagers owning a vehicle is when they saved up enough money to pay for a car and be able to maintain full coverage car insurance. At first, I was a little upset and discouraged because my parents were not going to just hand me a car, but my mind was set on owning my own car and having independence. ... I wanted a car sooner than later, yet my parents wanted me to have enough money to fully pay for a car.
