Sleep! ... Well, this actually happened to a man who developed a sleeping disorder, because he was not getting enough sleep. "One person in three has difficulty getting a good nights sleep. Anxiety, stress, long or irregular working hours, jet lag and the 24-hour society can all disturb sleep patterns, and leave you tired and underperforming during the day. In my speech, I will inform you about the harm of not sleeping, sleeping disorders, and of the ways to sleep better. ... In addition, a lack of sleep plays a part in many accidents. For example, according to The Economist, on the night the Exxon Valdez ran aground off Alaska in 1989, spilling 11m gallons of crude oil, the third mate in charge of the ship was sleep-deprived. Further, when the Space Shuttle blew up in 1986, killing all aboard, the NASA managers who authorized the launch, said they had little sleep the night before. ... Every year, sleep deprivation contributes to approximately 100,000 crashes, with 1,500 deaths. According to a pole by the National Sleep Foundation, 74 percent of Americans say they have regular sleep problems.
