This was an example of a social movement because the same people kept coming together to protest, the movement to save the Amazon has been going on for years, and even after the leader (Mendez) was killed, the group kept going and appointed new leaders. 2. What type of social movement is this? This movement was a grassroots movement because it started out with poor people who worked in the Amazon who later moved up to have government affluence.
