homosexuality

Homosexuality, an aspect of our society that is confusing to say the least, is an ongoing controversy in the world today. But can the act of homosexuality limit itself as a modern problem? The questions surrounding homosexuality have gone unanswered for a lengthy amount of time. Other questions about the mechanics and interpretations of homosexuality also arise. Is homosexuality a learned response to something in the environment or is it a quality that a person can be born with? ... If homosexuality is a disease then could there also be a cure? If homosexuality was not caused by anything internal or biological then there would have to be some external cause for it. In order to try and answer these questions it is important to know what homosexuality is and how it can best be defined. As one famous explanation of the term states, “Homosexuality may be defined, therefore, as a state in which the sexual object is a person of the same sex and in which there is a concomitant aversion or abhorrence to sexual contacts with members of the opposite sex” (Cavanagh and McGoldrick, 408).
