Kennedy's Foreign Policy

Kennedy’s side on foreign policy Kennedy was a full supporter of third-world containment. He changed from massive retaliations to a flexible response. So he created Special Forces in the military. These units were very small. Part of there missions were to train local people to defend themselves. The first group was the green berets. The units usually consisted of 6 to 10 men. To be considered for Green Beret status u had to be a sergeant. Once accepted u were trained in one or more occupations and 1 foreign language. Some of the occupations are weapons, explosives, communication, medical, civil affairs, or government. The next group was the Navy Seals. They were designed to do missions on their own.
