To Play or Not to Play

People see, write, and draw in a 2-dimensional world. We walk around in a 3-dimensional world. We take regular photographs in a 3-dimensional world and the product is 2-dimensional. Holography is a system that allows us to make 3-dimensional images by creating a light wave interference pattern that occurs when a reference beam interferes with reflected waves. The resulting image is then recorded on photographic film. Holography is also called lens less photography. In 1947, a British and Hungarian physicist named Dennis Gabor developed the theoretical principle of holography. Dennis Gabor is considered the father of holography. While he was working to improve the resolution of an electron microscope, he realized what components and interactions were needed to produce a holographic image. He coined the term holography from the Greek words holos, meaning whole, and gramma, meaning message. Gabor was blocked from further development of his theory because a light source was needed that originated from a single point and from one single wavelength.
