Learning to Fly

On March 4, 1999 I was issued an FAA Private Pilot?s license. I?ve chosen this as my presentation because it was a life long dream. That?s an over used phrase. When I say ?life long dream? I mean that the desire to fly was intrinsic to me. I don?t remember when I thought, ?I?d love to be able to fly an airplane.? It was just always there. An aircraft couldn?t fly overhead without my unconscious glance skyward. It?s not in my family really. My father was an aircraft mechanic in World War II, but I only found this out after his death in 1981. By then I was 18 years old, and my longing to fly was well entrenched. My eldest sister married a fellow named Mike Parsons and they moved to Montana when I was about ten years old.
