Bing Quail Yee was only 15 years old when he entered to the United States to Angel Island. Angel Island was the equivalent to Ellis Island but on the west coast. Bing entered in 1938, at a time when the Chinese exclusion act was still in effect. Bing Quail Yee faced tremendous difficulties when he came to Angel Island and when he finally entered the United States to get a job and live a normal life, but the outcome was worth it, a life for him and his family.
