However, there is question over whether it is possible for men’s and women’s roles and relationships in the family to be equal. Willmott and Young’s theories of the stages of the family, suggest that the stage 3 family, is one in which both husband and wife share duties, and responsibilities equally. They found that 85% of husbands now help around the home, which would suggest that it is possible for men’s and women’s roles in the family to be equal. ...
