Kate Chopin’s short stories show women in Victorian society conforming to traditional roles with family, marriage, and society. Although Kate Chopin is considered to be a feminist writer, she wrote short stories like “Respectable Women”, “A point at Issue”, “The Storm”, and “A Pair of Silk Stockings” to show how women celebrate traditional roles. ... Chopin uses strong words of ownership to describe the act of sex, “he possessed her…”(Chopin, “The Storm” 252).
