Three major reform movements that broadend our democratic ideals were the relegion revitalizations, the demon rum, and womens sufferage movements. In the early eighteen hundreds relegion was still a big part of a lot of peoples lives, but it in no way played as big a role as in the days of the Puritains. Many Americans, including Jefferson and Franklin, began to follow Deism.
