While at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, I was immediately drawn to the Spanish portal of the Church of San Miguel. ... Although the exact date of the church is unknown, it is believed that it was built in the second half of the 12th century. The church served as a sanctuary until 1915 when the Catholic Church declared it a surplus and had it deconsecrated.
