Everyman critique
God summons Death to search out Everyman and tell him that he must face his final reckoning. ... Death announces that God had sent him to advise Everyman that he must make a long journey and must be accountable for the many bad deeds and the only few good deeds he has done in his life. ... Everyman says that death is the farthest thought from his mind at this time and is not ready. ... Everyman pleads for mercy until he finds a remedy. ... Death advises that he will return, in the meantime Everyman has an opportunity to find any possible companions for his journey. Everyman wishes he had never been born. Everyman remembers Fellowship, who is referred to as a friend. ... Everyman believing Fellowship, tells him of Deaths urgent summons. Once Fellowship hears that there is no return from the journey, he withdraws his offer to go with Everyman. Fellowship said he would do anything, make cheer, haunt women and even kill with Everyman, but will not face death even for his own father.
