New towns
Neighbourhood Centre The neighbourhood centre serves to narrow down the scope of housing estate provision in terms of community and individual needs. As mentioned previously, each neighbourhood acts as a single unit independent of the town center. Within this neighbourhood centres, facilities such as provision shops, traditional Chinese medical halls, private medical clinics, stationary shops, cake shops, hairdressers, mini-supermarkets, wet markets, hawker centres, community centres and small commercial shops are located. The idea of precincts is derived from past planning principles and environmental design issues.
