The factors that contribute towards a healthy lifestyle are factors impacting on mental health, physical health, social health, and emotional health. The main factors of a healthy lifestyle include Air and Water Pollution, Alcohol use, Dietary Excesses, Excess Sunlight and Radiation, High Cholesterol, Immunizations, Obesity, Poor Nutrition, Inactive Lifestyle, Smoking and Stress.
These factors are vital in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Each factor affects at least one category of my health from mental to physical.
My health is affected by most of these health factors. I go to school in Sydney, a major capital city with a large amount of Air pollution, especially in the CBD. Alcohol use is also a factor, as I live in an environment that accepts drinking of Alcohol socially acceptable, therefore I am pressured into drinking Alcohol, if not by my friends then by my family. Dietary excesses does not seem to affect me, as I am in an environment that cares in what I eat, therefore am given the right foods, I am also well educated on the factors and consciences of unhealthy eating. Excess Sunlight is a big factor of an unhealthy lifestyle. Australia is known to be one of the highest skin cancer cases in the world; therefore I am in great risk as outdoors is where I spend most of my time. Although due Australia's sun we are all well educated on the precautions we have to take. Stress is also a contributing factor to my lifestyle as school work and other activities cause me to stress.
Although I have an increase chance of having excess sunlight, drinking alcohol and breathing polluted air, my health compared to the average Australian, as I do not have obesity, I do not smoke, I am not inactive I have Immunizations and I don't have High Cholesterol, my health is fairly high.
