This example clearly points out that through civic engagement the population becomes more powerful and they received what they truly desired. ... In this case the people of Faliscan felt that it was their civic duty to hand over the city to Camillus. Machiavelli is pointing out to us in this example that people must use civic engagement if they want to do what is best for them and their city. In this example it was their civic engagement to hand over the city to Camillus and therefore this shows what Faliscan city really needed.
