Child Study Project Sarah is a 5 year old female born on October 29th, 1997. She is a very small child for her age, with blonde hair and blue eyes. ... Her mother said that besides being 1 or 4 kids Sarah was a pretty normal and healthy child. When doing this study on Sarah, of course I spent a lot of time with her seeing how she interacts with adults and children, including her siblings and classmates at daycare. ... She is a very independent child and doesn’t want help with things but wants to try them herself. ... In the Four Stages of Piaget’s Cognitive Development theory, Sarah falls into the Preoperational thought stage, which states that the child learns how to use symbols such as words and numbers to represent aspects of the world, but relate to the world only through his or her perspective. ... Overall Sarah’s mother, daycare teacher and myself would categorize Sarah as an overall well behaved child with average intelligence, but with exceptional conversational skills.
