There is a strong relationship between the culture of the Body Shop and the organisational structure. The business is decentralised therefore creating a culture where there is greater power given to the different stores and regional centres allowing team efforts involving staff, and giving the management style a more democratic and consultative style. This will give staff more sense of responsibility and should encourage staff to perform well to achieve high standards and sales. This is a very different to a “Tall” organisational structure where greater power is given to senior figures in the management and not a lot of time goes into the views of their employees.
