Reservoir Dogs

Quentin Tarantino’s gruesomely violent film, Reservoir Dogs, examines conflicts of personality and ethics while increasing tension in a non-linear story. Like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs has an unconventional structure, cleverly shuffling back and forth in time to reveal details about the characters, experienced criminals who know next to nothing about each other. It is a movie about honor in the midst of thieves. Many critics have criticized this film for being overly vulgar and violent. However, the drama in this film is enhanced by its vulgarity and violence. The language and conversation is realistic throughout, holding back no punches. The dialog is fast and exceptional. Conversation even becomes the determining factor allowing Mr. Orange into the operation. He must sound and act like one of them to pull it off.
