Analyzing Rainbows

Nathaniel Hawthorne, a famous author of American Literature during the 19th century, worote such reoccuring themes about individualism and practicality. One of his famous short stories and favorites to myself, "the birthmark" speaks of an individualist husband of science (Aylmer), and a beautiful, loving, but tainted wife (Georgiana). Aylmer was gifted with the comprehension of mysteries of life, and scientific discorvery and Georgiana was the most beautiful physiological object that could be provided by Nature to this world. Though such a divine creation of a woman was tainted by one flaw, the staining imprint of a birthmark across her left cheek.
