Poetry Comparison London by William Blake and Composed Upon Westminster Bridge September 3 1802 by William

Poetry Comparison - "London" by William Blake and “Composed Upon Westminster Bridge, September 3, 1802” by William Wordsworth. The poems “London” by William Blake, and “Composed Upon Westminster Bridge, September 3, 1802” by William Wordsworth both describe the cityscape of London. Where as Wordsworth’s poem is a description of London from Westminster Bridge, Blake’s poem is from the perspective of a person wandering through the streets of London. ... Wordsworth’s poem was, as the title indicates, written in 1802, a time when the industrial revolution was in its early stages. “London” on the other hand was probably written towards the end of the 19th Century, when London had been much more industrialised with more factories, more people, and more pollution. The most obvious difference is that the two poems’ description of London is diametrically opposed.
