The Notebook begins with an eighty year old man, Noah Calhoun telling the story of his life, the good and bad, and having the knowledge that his life has been lived to the fullest because he has loved another so deeply. ... She had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s four years earlier, and requested that Noah recount their story in a notebook. The notebook is what he reads to her everyday, hoping that she will remember the events that transpired over their lives. ...
