These relate to how the web browser interprets the encoded information and displays it on the viewer’s screen, the size of the site, colours used in the site, etc. ... The Colours: Web browsers have a palette of 216 “web safe colours” these are colours that will be displayed correctly across platforms and browsers. ... When a site is designed for a resolution that is higher than the viewer’s screen resolution, a portion of the page remains outside the screen area. ... To avoid this, the site must be designed at 800X600 pixels. One can also create a web site with a “variable width,” this means that the site expands the tables that it is composed of to match the size (and resolution) of the browser’s screen, giving the effect of an adaptable site.
